March Newsletter

Let us all start praying for Spring please!  I am so beyond done with the snow! Join in a Hallelujah!!

Here is some info for March, April and May!

CLASS INFO:
*First of all, I have had several of you email or ask me about places I would recommend for your students after we are done here in May!  I found out today that Centrepointe Academy in Centerville is expanding their program in the fall and opening up four more classes.  This is awesome news!  They have been full with a waiting list for a long time!  Their teachers are so great and I would highly recommend their program even though is a little bit of a drive! They do their fall registration in May and it fills up fast so if you are interested please jump on that!  They also have summer programs if you may be interested in those!

I also know Hopebox in Kaysville has a small youth theatre program and so does On Pitch in Layton.  I know nothing about these programs so I can't personally recommend them but they do have them.

There is a performing group in West Kaysville called Performance Academy that I have heard good things about.  They are more show choir focused but do good work!

Our last days of CentreStage Classes will be  May 21st, 22nd, 23rd and the final tap class will be May 28th!
It's almost painful for me to type this......but I also know it is the right decision for me and my family.  I love these kids and will miss them terribly! But let's move forward....we still have two musicals to produce!

*PETER PAN JR.

We have sold nearly every ticket for the original run.  We are going to add the Tuesday performance on April 16th.  I have three families who have not ordered tickets yet so as soon I as can get them to order I will let you know if/what tickets I have let to purchase on that Tuesday!

Final Dress Rehearsal:
April 10th- 6:30-8:30. Please send them in full costume and make up (make up instructions will be posted at a later date).  We will be photographing the show this night and those photos will be made available to you so you can just enjoy the show and not worry about taking photos!

February Newsletter....

I'm sorry that this Newsletter is late....it's been a wild few weeks! To say I've been impressed with the last two productions would be an understatement! Those kids exceeded my expectations and it was a joy to watch them learn and stretch themselves!

We have a couple months of work to do for our next two productions!  Here is some information and DATES for extra rehearsals that need to be noted!

PETER PAN JR.- Elementary Theatre Classes
Show Dates: April 11-15th

Saturday Matinee at 2:00pm- April 13

Peter Pan Longest Day:
Saturday March 23- 8:00am- 1:00pm- MANDATORY
Because of the timing of Spring Break we need to do our Longest Day rehearsal a little earlier than normal.

Peter Pan- Final Dress Rehearsal
April 10th- 6:00-8:30pm
**The show will be photographed at the final dress rehearsal!

Peter Pan Tickets:
Tickets for Peter Pan Jr.  will be available the first week of March.  I will send home ticket order forms.  Please remember every ticket order need to have the order form and the payment for tickets to be sent home.  I can accept cash, check or Venmo (Kristin-callor) for ticket payments!

We are limiting ticket orders to 15 tickets for each family until everyone has had a chance to order tickets.  After March 20th, I will open up the remaining seats for anyone who would like more.  You do not NEED to order 15 tickets, that is just going to be the max amount to order for the first few weeks! If you wait til after the 20th there may not be seats available!

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST-
High School and Junior Productions
We will start working full time on Beauty and the Beast!  If is VITAL your students be at as many rehearsals as possible.  We learn huge dance numbers in one or two rehearsals and if they miss it is extremely difficult to re- teach!

Beauty and the Beast Longest Day- MANDATORY
FRIDAY April 26th- 3:00-10:00pm

Beauty Tech Rehearsals at WSU-
April 30th and May 1st- 4:00-10:00pm

Beauty and the Beast Shows
May 2th, 3th, 4th- 7:30pm
May 4th  Matinee- 4:00pm

Beauty and the Beast Tickets:
Ticket will be available starting March 15th!  There are 250 seats per show!  We need these kids to sell, sell, sell tickets!!  I would love to have every show sold out!  With a Disney show like this we should be able to do it!  Please encourage them to sell tickets!  I am asking that each student (family) sell 15-20 tickets!  That is so doable with family and friends!

Spring Break
NO Classes will be held week of April 1st.  We WILL have class on Thursday March 28th!

We will need to have a few extra rehearsals after class to work some of the smaller scenes. I don't like to use class time to work with just a few students.  These rehearsals will be held on a few Wendesday nights and Saturday Mornings.  I will get that schedule to you in the next couple of weeks!

CentreStage Theatre for Youth- Tuition Policy

Centerstage Theater for Youth is a theater school where classes are built level by level and week to week as the group progresses toward final projects. Due to this fact, Centerstage students are not charged weekly for participation, but for a spot in the class. Some months students will meet for 3 or 4 individual classes and some months they meet up to 9 times between extra rehearsals, longest days and actual performances. Producing full scale musicals is an integral part of Center stage Theater for Youth. Obtaining rights and following copyright laws are required when involved in theatrical productions. Therefore, Centerstage has designed tuition in a way that is consistent for everyone all year. All tuition, costume fees and participation fees have been rolled together and divided by the nine months classes
meet all year.

If you would like further (budget) information or to learn how to apply for the rights to a musical please feel free to contact me.
